This is the view of Lake Tahoe as you come in on Highway 50 from Sacramento. Lake Tahoe is a great place to visit, even in the winter, California storms are generally well predicted in advance, so just make sure that one is not forecast, and go for the weekend. Even in good weather, the road to emerald bay may have chain controls, so you may miss out on that.

Jacob, you have some nice shots on your site. I'm assuming we share the same "home city", because I recognize most, if not all of your Sacramento photos.
